In Alpha Phi Omega, service is defined in four sections: service to the campus, service to the community, service to the nation, and service to the fraternity.

Here at the Mu Omicron Chapter at Clarkson University, we seek to fulfill each of these each categories of service to the best of our ability and with constant reflection on the meaning and level of impact that we can have through our collective work. Service is the common denominator that attracts our brothers to join APO, and it is what unites such a diverse group of students together. In that light, we seek to participate in service in a manner that brings brothers together, so that they can grow in leadership and friendship through service. We are always striving to think critically about the service work we participate in so that we are ensuring our service, in which ever category, is positively impactful and meaningful for both the people we’re serving and our brothers.

Our service program is composed of several different factors. Not only do we participate in projects every day of the week, but we also participate in a wide range of reoccurring and one-time projects throughout the year.. We seek to partner with organizations in order to provide them volunteers; our goal is to create strong relationships with nonprofits and other civically engaged organizations so that they know they can reach out to us if they ever need people.

We strive to provide many opportunities for brothers to get involved in shaping the way our chapter engages in service. Brothers are always suggesting projects and reaching out to new organizations in order to expand our volunteer network.

Alpha Phi Omega is a national coeducational service organization founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service.

With more than 400,000 members on over 375 campuses, it provides its members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer on their campus, in their community, to the nation, and to the organization.
